Why you need more DHA and EPA for your heart

Your heart works day and night, and your diet supplies its building blocks. For the omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA, the science is refreshingly clear: from a daily intake of 250 mg they contribute to normal heart function. The less cheerful news: most people never reach that amount. Here is why, and how to change it.

The authorised claim, without inflation

We deliberately promise no more than what has been assessed. The authorised claim reads: EPA and DHA contribute to normal heart function, at a daily intake of 250 mg. No miracle cure, but one building block, just as heart-healthy foods, movement and relaxation are building blocks.

Why ALA alone rarely suffices

Plant sources such as walnuts and flaxseed provide ALA. Your body converts ALA into EPA and DHA, but only to a small extent. Whoever eats no oily fish and relies on ALA therefore often stays below 250 mg of the active fatty acids. That is exactly the gap that measurements show worldwide.

Reaching the amount, without fish

  • Take one capsule of Testa EPA & DHA daily: over 450 mg of DHA and EPA from algae oil
  • Make it a fixed routine, for example with breakfast
  • Check your status with the omega-3 index self-test and measure again after a few months

FISH-FREE

The same fatty acids as in fish, without the fish

Fish obtain their DHA and EPA from algae. Our algae oil skips that detour: straight from the original source, grown on land, without the contaminants that can accumulate at sea. The full comparison is in krill oil vs fish oil vs the plant-based alternative.

250 mg a day, simply solved

One capsule of Testa Omega-3 delivers over 450 mg of DHA and EPA, fresh every day.

Good for you. Good for the ocean.
