How it started
2008
An issue in baby food
Within a sister company, we are working on baby food. There, it has become clear how important a reliable DHA source with a controlled composition is. Fish oil is not always the ideal solution for this. The search leads to algae oil: a stable, fish-free way to add DHA.
2011
From research to brand: the birth of Testa
The knowledge and experience with algae formed the basis for Testa as we know it today. With a focus on science, quality and sustainability, a new alternative to traditional fish oil emerged: plant-based Omega-3.
2013
Biodiversity as a starting point
We are becoming Captains within the Platform Biodiversity, Ecosystems and Economy. Together with other frontrunners, we are working on the question of how companies can grow without depleting nature and biodiversity. In doing so, we are putting algae oil on the map as a serious alternative to fish oil. Check the official name of the platform and the role title before going live.

Today: market leader with a clear mission
Testa has since grown into the market leader in plant-based Omega-3. With a dedicated team, the brand keeps working on products that combine health and sustainability, with one goal: making conscious choices easier for everyone.
2016
Fish-free Omega-3 to neighboring countries
Testa Omega-3 takes the first steps outside the Netherlands. We are making fish-free Omega-3 from algae available in neighboring countries and continuing to build an international movement towards less dependence on fish oil.
2018
International growth
We are further expanding our international presence. More and more people are choosing Omega-3 from algae as a fish-free alternative to fish and krill oil.

Testa Omega-3 aims to develop fish-free Omega-3 from algae from an alternative into the logical standard. For everyone who wants DHA and EPA, without being dependent on fish or krill.
From discovery to conviction
What started with an issue regarding DHA in baby food grew into a clear conviction: fish-free Omega-3 must be accessible to everyone. That conviction determines how we develop our products, where we grow, and where we want to go as Testa Omega-3.

Since the start, we have focused entirely on DHA and EPA from algae. With this, we have been building a fully-fledged fish-free alternative for more than ten years.

From our fish-free Vrill formula with Omega-3, phospholipids, and astaxanthin to vitamin E and individually protected blister packaging: we work out every detail for a reliable daily Omega-3.
